Russell has recently returned to London after being away for 22 years, 12 years of which were in Singapore. Viewed as one of the technical leaders in façade engineering and sustainable building design in Asia, Russell was recently awarded ‘Green Engineer of the Year 2013’ by the Singapore Building and Construction Authority. His unfaltering pursuit for green buildings continues to exude from his numerous project involvement and personal commitment to share his ideas, resources and experiences regularly with the industry through speaking engagements and interviews from journals and magazines. Russell has a background in façade and structural engineering and specialises in the design, assessment and construction of all types of façade systems for a broad range of buildings. He also has a strong interest in Building Physics and its application to façade design. Having been based in Asia for many years the projects he has undertaken cover a wide range and scope, from conceptual design and building physics studies, to providing sub-contractor's details. The areas of investigations and resolution of failing facades also form a large part of his work. Having been involved in both complex and massive projects Russell has a deep knowledge of the façade markets throughout Asia in particular Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, India and Australia. The design and procurement of complex and high performance curtain walling is one of his strength and is a continuing theme in his work. Since his move to London Russell has been engaged on a full cross section of the London group’s work including Kuwait Airport and residential projects in Kings Cross and Chelsea Barracks.
